I do love the blossoms that Spring brings. Now we have fruit trees, wattle and Manchurian Pear all blooming.
The rainbow silver beet looks great in the veggie patch and even the arum lilies are at their peak.

"Nest" Quilt Completed
Now I have to work on a name for the quilt ... the hardest part for me!
This quilt was made from a jelly roll of Moda fabrics in the range "Nest". Very colourful and bit 70s retro I think. The pattern focuses on churn dash blocks and is from the book More Strip Clubbing by Daniela Stout and Georgette Dell'Orco.
It was beautifully quilted for me by Karen of Quilts on Bastings.
Naturally I asked for feathers in the quilting.

Kaffe Fassett Charm Squares II
I have put together the "dark" charm squares from my KF packs with three Reece Scannell fabrics and some left over KF shot cottons to make this simple but effective half square triangles quilt. Simple but time consuming ... pairing the squares, drawing pencil diagonal lines, stitching either side of the lines, cutting in half, pressing, setting out and then sewing blocks together and rows together. I managed to get all but the rows done on our weekend away and will finish the rest this week with any luck!

Beautiful magnolia
Are the magnolias flowering where you are? They seem to be extra heavy with blossom this year - the light pinks are all out in Melbourne and the dark pink/purples are about to come into full bloom. It's a pity they only last a short time and often get blown around by the strong winds that often accompany Spring here.

A Cushion Made Today!
Home sick with a bad cold today, resting up. I put together this cushion with some of my Liberty of London prints from the V&A Museum Quilts 1700 to 2010 Exhibition, purchased in London in March. The prints are called "Stick Flower", "Rose" and "Shells".
