Such a nice autumn day today and a public holiday in Victoria for Labour Day!
G and I visited the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Cranbourne for the first time and had a lovely walk around and then lunch, followed by a good size walk round two thirds of the Botanical Gardens (native bush with paths, lakes and wetlands and a Trig Tower with 360 degree views back to Melbourne, Mt Dandenong and over to Western Port and Phillip Is).
The Australian garden has so many Australian native species ... and it was looking very lush with all the rain we have had. The second stage under construction looks massive and the red desert sand part is also being renovated.
We especially liked the "river and waterfall" which seems to have been very well designed.
Two blocks of pipes and rods end on caught my eye for "texture"!

On Sunday it was overcast but not cool and we took our kayak out for a paddle round Williamstown Marina and out past the shipyard and round the Time Ball Tower point. It got a bit rough there with a bit of a swell running so we turned after a while and paddled back. We put the kayak in at the little mini boat ramp on The Strand. It was a very pleasant afternoon!
